Summit Raises a Toast to 35 Years Gone, and 35 Years to Come

Summit Brewing Company celebrates 35 years with awesome outdoor party.

On Saturday, Oct. 16 Summit Brewing Company held a party to celebrate our 35th birthday!

This momentous year was marked with great music provided by four bands organized through our partners at the Minnesota Music Coalition, delicious food from local restaurant partners and, of course, lots of satiating Summit Beer.

On what turned out to be a quintessential fall day we opened up our parking lot, Ratskeller Beer Hall and patio to over a thousand family, friends, partners and neighbors.

Food was available from Dark Horse Bar and Eatery and Lone Oak Grill, while we served Summit Extra Pale Ale, Summit Sága IPA, Summit Berry Bazaar Black Currant & Cranberry and Summit Oktoberfest outside. Additionally, all 20+ draught lines were open inside.

Summit Oktoberfest earned the award of the most popular beer of the afternoon, coming to roughly a third of our sales. However, Extra Pale Ale and our State Fair exclusive Berry Bazaar were a close second and third.

All four performances were by local musicians and were female artists or female-lead groups. R&B singer Samantha Moon opened the afternoon with an amazing set met with high praise from the audience. Little Fevers followed next with an equally exhilarating and crowd-pleasing performance. Molly Maher took the stage third with a powerful performance that rocked the crowd. And finally, as dusk fell the popular Kiss the Tiger took the stage for an electric performance.

Several times throughout the evening, President and Founder Mark Stutrud took a moment to thank everyone for their support throughout the years.

While a celebration of how far we’ve come, and where we’ve yet to go, the party was also a testament to the support of our partners and community over the years. Summit would not be who we are or where we are without that. Over the course of 2021, it was often uncertain what the status of the hospitality industry would be. With closures of indoor spaces and events the crux of what the business was built on, gathering together to enjoy good food, drink and company, was eliminated.  It was not only momentous for Summit to be celebrating 35 years, but for us to be doing so after the previous two years and in celebration with all of you.

Thank you for all your support! We can’t wait to celebrate again with you, and to make It another 35 years!
