Summit’s Most Irritable Beer Returns: Cranky Woodsman On in Ratskeller

Lace up your boots, pull on your plaid and bust out your best wool hat…Summit Cranky Woodsman Nut Brown Ale is back!

Our beloved cantankerous logger made his first appearance in August 2018. Despite his name implying a prickly disposition, fans really seemed to enjoy having him around.

Luckily, we were able to coax him out of the woods once more this fall.

This sessionable, mahogany beer is our ode to Minnesota. Brewed with Minnesota-grown puffed wild rice, Lacey barley from Alexandria and Cascade hops from Mighty Axe Farms, it celebrates all the state has to offer. With a touch of smoked oats and a drop of maple syrup, it’s enough to make the crotchetiest cabin-dweller smile.

Perfect for a crisp autumn day or a rainy, fall evening, it pairs with everything from fried walleye to chicken wild rice soup to a grumpy personality.
