Now-a-days, the definition of a party has changed a bit. We’ve moved from chairs on decks to computers on desks. Thankfully, what hasn’t changed is our desire to spend time, in whatever way we can, with our close friends and loved ones.
We here at Summit Brewing Co. want to help build that community. And what brings us together better than beer? Especially, trying and talking about new brews!
So, we decided to release our Summit Block Party Box a few weeks early, to help foster some conversation and connection. And, 2020 brought some new friends to the yard. (Metaphorically speaking).
Summit Dakota Soul Craft Lager
Summit Dakota Soul Craft Lager may not be a new beer, but it may be one you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting just yet. This year-round beer marks the second pilsner on our tap list. An homage to barley, what Summit Founder and President Mark Stutrud calls calls “the soul of beer,” this lager is made with Moravian 37 grown on Stutrud’s cousin’s farm. Brewed in the traditional Czech-style, it features notes of English biscuits, graham cracker and flavors of light, floral hops. Cold-conditioned for weeks after fermentation, it is a crisp, refreshing, balanced beer. While we hope you’ve already become acquainted with this lager, we sure are jealous of those who get to experience it for the first time.
Summit Cabin Crusher Kölsch-Style Ale with Lemon
Meet our first newbie! Summit Cabin Crusher Kölsch-Style with Lemon may seem like a familiar ale, but chances are you just know its sister-beer Summit Cabin Crusher Kölsch-Style with Lime. That’s right! We took the fan favorite from last year’s Block Party Box and added a new flavor twist. Brewed similarly to its lime predecessor, Cabin Crusher Kölsch-Style with Lemon utilizes Lemon Drop and Loral hops for big, bright citrus aromas. Floral and bready notes mix with tart Meyer Lemon peel and puree to create a highly crushable brew.
Summit Triumphant Session IPA
Next up is Summit Triumphant Session IPA. This IPA could be exactly what you need this spring. Many of us are drinking a couple more beers as we’ve got fewer places to be, and this is a brew with all of the flavor and none of the guilt. Summit Triumphant clocks in at 95 calories, 3.5g of carbs and 4% ABV per 12oz serving. With notes of breadcrust and sweet citrus, it finishes light and clean. And, if ever there was a beer to enjoy at the first in-person gathering post-COVID-19, this would be the one. What else qualifies as a triumph? After all, it’s the Beer for the Triumphant™.
Summit Extra Pale Ale
Of course, we had to include our tried-and-true flagship, Summit Extra Pale Ale. Over 30 years, this beer has been at the helm of our ship. It was a pioneer in craft beer at its launch and remains an ale brewers look up to. The classic English-style pale ale maintains its sweet caramel and biscuit malt flavor with a balanced juicy citrus hop bite. It’s the flavor you know, love and trust. In times of uncertainty it’s comforting to know that some things never change. For us, that’s Summit EPA.
