From the Archives: Summit Beer Available in Cans
It’s hard to believe there was ever a time that Summit beer was not available in cans. But, believe it or not, for much of Summit Brewing Co.’s history our beer was only in bottles.
When Summit Brewing Co. opened in 1986 our first batch of Summit Extra Pale Ale was only available in kegs.
For the next year, as we rolled out Summit Great Northern Porter and Summit Christmas Ale (what would become Summit Winter Ale), Summit beer could only be found on tap.
However, by the fall of 1987, we finally began to bottle.
From there, it would take another 27 years before our flagship Summit EPA would be in cans. In July 2014, we canned our first 12-pack of EPA, with Summit Sága IPA and Summit Oktoberfest quickly behind.
Check out this fun video we put together, with a specially-made song just for us by NYC-based musician Abstract Artimus, of Summit EPA going into cans!
