High Sticke Alt
Powerful German-Style Ale, Pretty Agile On Skates
With big aromas of stone fruit and toffee, plus a slap shot of spicy hop flavor and assertive bitterness, Summit High Sticke Alt returns from retirement for a very limited run on the ice. In a year filled with uncertainty, you can be sure High Sticke Alt will return to its cross-checking, elbow-throwing, trash-talking ways — the beer just does what needs to be done. Deep copper in color, traces of toast, caramel and biscuit come from a complex blend of German malts. A huge hop load gives a spicy flavor that combines with an assertive bitterness. Warm fermentation combined with a long period of cold conditioning results in a crisp, refreshing, highly-drinkable beer. Find this for an extremely limited time in 12-packs of 12oz cans at very limited locations in the Twin Cities metro area.
Conversation Starter
Inspired by the Altbier style famous to Düsseldorf, Germany, High Sticke Alt has roots that go back centuries.”Alt” is German for old and, in this case, refers to the beer’s method of fermentation. “Sticke,” on the other hand, means secret — a nod to the special-occasion seasonal beers brewers would make for themselves and their favorite customers.
