Happy Father’s Day, Dads!

Father’s Day is coming up! So, Summit Brewing Company would like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all fathers – biological, step, adoptive, honorary, grand, chosen or otherwise – and cheers you for all you do for your family.

Father’s Day has been celebrated for thousands of years.

In some communities, such as within the Eastern Orthodox Church, Father’s Day has been celebrated for centuries. In European Catholic traditions it dates as far back as 1508. The modern Father’s Day, as we know it to be in the United States of America, was first celebrated in 1910.

The choice of the third Sunday in June appears to be an arbitrary date as some countries celebrate in March and some in October. However, it is the most popular time to celebrate.

Here, we often commemorate the day by gathering with family and friends to honor all the paternal figures in our lives. These gatherings usually consist of food and drink, which often includes beer.

So, this Father’s Day, grab your pop’s favorite Summit and toast to the man of the hour!
