Summit Brewing Company Through the Years

You may have heard…Summit Brewing Co. is celebrating a birthday. A big birthday, in fact!

At the end of this month, Summit Brewing Company is celebrating 35 years in business!

While the journey to open Summit Brewing started several years before a beer was brewed, Founder & President Mark Stutrud officially sold the first Summit beer in September 1986. In fact, September 24 marks the first sale of two kegs of flagship Summit Extra Pale Ale to then neighbors Johnny’s Bar.

Since then, Summit has brewed countless keg and poured thousands of pints across Minnesota and the upper Midwest.

As part of our celebrations, Stutrud spent time reflecting on the last 35 years, sharing stories about how Summit came to be and where it is going.
