Winter Carnival Royalty Makes Visit to Summit Ratskeller
A noble wind is blowing into Summit this weekend.
King Boreas and the Royal Family will be making a visit to Summit Brewing Company on Friday, Oct. 18.
As Saint Paul Winter Carnival legend has it, King Boreas discovered the frosty haven of Minnesota while traveling the world after assigning rule over the four winds to his four brothers. Within Minnesota, he crowned downtown St. Paul as the “Realm of Boreas,” the winter capitol that celebrated wind, snow and ice.
Each year, for 10 days, King Boreas and Aurora, Queen of the Snows, come together with King Winter, Queen of the Northlands, King Frost, Queen of the Snowflakes and all the princes and princesses to celebrate the majesty of winter in historic St. Paul.
Now, this imperial group is making a stately visit to St. Paul staple, Summit Brewing Company.
During their visit, guests are invited to enjoy a pint with the royals. There will even be a knighting ceremony for those eager to receive the honor. Summit’s The Villain will make a return to our draught lines, along with Summit Dark Infusion Milk Stout with Coffee and Summit Oktoberfest.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Saint Paul Festival & Heritage Foundation.
The Summit Ratskeller is open from 2 – 9. P.m. on Fridays, with tours at 3 p.m. Additional hours, beer line-up and food truck options can be found on the Ratskeller page.
