Local Company Creates Summit Twins Pils Custom Taphandle
By now you’ve hopefully heard we released a new beer here at Summit Brewing Co. Summit Twins Pils joined the roster this week as a year-round pilsner.
A quick play-by-play: In April 2021, we announced a monumental partnership with the Minnesota Twins in which Summit Brewing Co. was named an “Official Craft Beer” and the “Official Hometown Craft Beer” of the MLB team. The partnership also gave us the rights to use Twins trademarks across Summit’s multistate territory and allowed us to create the Summit Brewing Pub at Target Field.
In celebration of that partnership, earlier this week we announced the release of Summit Twins Pils. This year-round pilsner is a rebrand of our award-winning Keller Pils. So, while the name has changed, the beer is still the unfiltered German-style pilsner that’s known for its sweet honey malts, citrus hops and crisp finish. In keeping the beer the same and changing up the name, we provided this beloved brew the chance to get into new hands while also promoting one of our top partners.
But, it’s not just the can that is getting a new look. It’s the tap handle too!
As Twins Pils begins to roll out on draught at bars and restaurants around Summit’s five-state territory, fans will start to see a new design on tap towers that’s exclusive to this brand.
The design was created by local Minnesota company Pillbox Bat Co. Located in Winona, Pillbox Bat Co. is owned by two childhood friends who create handmade and hand painted bats all in-house. It’s also named after an old ballpark in St. Paul, Minn. Each bat is unique and meant to be an art piece. Our handle incorporates the Twins’ iconic red, white and baby blues of the throwback jersey just like the can. It’s also made specifically to be a mini-baseball bat.
So, every time a Twins Pils is poured you’re truly hitting a home run.
Look for Twins Pils, and these tap handles, at your local bar, pub or restaurant. Twins Pils will also be available year-round in 12-packs of 12oz cans wherever Summit beer is sold. It will also be available in 16oz cans and on draught in Target Field and at other select venues in the five state area.
