Summit Brewing Co. Posts 2019 Brand Release Calendar

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming

Time has sure flown by so far in 2019. We’ve been so busy brewing the greatest beers in the Midwest, we haven’t had a moment to officially share our brand release calendar. So, we figured now was the perfect time, along with the madness of March, to take a commercial time out for a quick recap and drop our :60 spot of what’s happening here at Summit Brewing Company in 2019.

QUICK RECAP
January 2019

This month witnessed the release of the Summit Ratskeller Reserve Collection variety box. Featuring four new beers available only inside the variety pack and on limited draught, this 12-pack of 12-oz. bottles is the first edition in an ongoing series. You can find this amazing first edition of the collection through June 2019. Brands include:

Summit Triple Rye – An Amber Ale featuring three types of rye from three different countries, combining sweet roasted malt flavors with citrus hops and spice.
Summit Twenty-One – A collaborative IPA from Summit’s seven brewers, Twenty-One features seven different malts, seven different hops, and notes of citrus, pine and melon.
Summit Get Smoked – A traditional export porter with smoked malts, spicy British hops, and flavors of dark fruit and bittersweet chocolate.
Summit XPA One Experimental Pale Ale – A single malt, single hop Pale Ale with notes of breadcrust, sourdough, and tropical hop flavors from Sabro, Yakima Valley’s newest hop variety.

Also debuting this month is The Summit Go Box. A 24-pack of 12-oz. cans, The Go Box features eight cans each of three core Summit brands, with limited distribution to big-box and club-type stores — you know, those bulk-purchase palaces where you stock the fridge for parties. With three iterations coming in 2019, the first Go Box includes Summit Skip Rock white ale, Summit Extra Pale Ale and Summit Dakota Soul craft lager.

February 2019
After a busy January, we recovered in February with the return of Summit Maibock, available on draught, in 12-packs of 12-oz. cans, and in 6 and 12-packs of 12-oz. bottles.

March 2019
Woo boy, here came the goodies: March 2019 sees the return of 2015’s Summit Old Blaggard Barleywine, inspired by the great strong ales of England’s Burton-On-Trent. Cellared for six months and beautifully balanced with aromas of toffee, figs, stone fruits and marmalade, Summit Old Blaggard is one of two Union Series brews slated for 2019! Available on draught and in 4-packs of 12-oz. bottles, Summit Union Series beers are patiently cellared until their flavor profiles are fully mature and properly integrated, highlighting our unique ability to brew a variety of high-gravity styles. Make sure to drink ‘em fresh, they’re ready to go!

HERE WE GO. HERE WE GO. HERE. WE. GO!
April 2019
Debuting in April 2019 is Summit Slugfest Juicy IPA. Unfiltered and orange in appearance, Slugfest seeks to connect new American IPA trends with our classical European approach to brewing. Low in alcohol and bitterness but big in aggressive citrus hop flavors and aromas like tangerine, melon and lemon, Slugfest is balanced by malt notes of toast, English biscuits and bread crust. Get your first taste inside the Summit Block Party Box variety pack and limited draught.

A mixed 12-pack of 12-oz. cans, the Summit Block Party variety box lands in April and runs through September, featuring Summit Extra Pale Ale, Summit Dakota Soul craft lager, Summit Slugfest Juicy IPA (mentioned above) and our new Summit Cabin Crusher, a Kölsch-style Ale brewed with lime peel and lime puree. Expect big lemon-lime hop characteristics, high carbonation and drinkability, and balanced malt flavors of honey, biscuit and toast. Summit Cabin Crusher Kölsch with Lime is the perfect for those MN summers in cabin country, sitting on a patio or relaxing on a floatie thirst-quencer!

Summer Ale 2017Now, we don’t know if we’re gonna see 70-degree sunshine or snowbanks come April 1 — probably both — but we do know you’ll be seeing Summit Summer Ale once again. First introduced in 2012, your favorite summer seasonal took last summer off for personal reasons. After some restorative R&R at a quiet cabin on Minnesota’s North Shore, however, this refreshing slammer returns in 6-packs and 12-packs of 12-oz. bottles, plus 12-packs of 12-oz. cans and draught. Available through July.

The second edition of the Summit Go Box lands with eight 12-oz. cans each of Summit Extra Pale Ale, Summit Sága IPA and Summit Dakota Soul craft lager. Reminder: This 24-pack of 12-oz. cans will see limited distribution to big-box and club-type stores.

Summit Dark Infusion, our smoothest, boldest brew is back by popular demand and returns in the kicka$$ 6-packs of 12-oz. cans and draught. You’re welcome! An overwhelmingly popular coffee milk stout that made its initial debut in November 2016, Dark Infusion is the first-ever Summit Unchained Series beer to make a comeback, TWICE. We think it is safe to say this brew isn’t getting lost in the exosphere any time soon.

Summit Imperial Russian Stout returns in October, inspired by the union of new ingredients with an authentic British recipe from the 1840s. Cellared for six months and featuring notes of licorice, bitter chocolate and dark fruit, this powerful export stout brings the intensity. Available on draught and in 4-packs of 12-oz. bottles, Summit Union Series beers are patiently cellared until their flavor profiles are fully mature and properly integrated, highlighting our unique ability to brew a variety of high-gravity styles. Drink ‘em fresh!

November 2019
We couldn’t start off the summer with the bring-back of Summit Summer Ale without the winter bring-back of Summit Winter Ale. You yelled and screamed for Summit Winter Ale to come back in 2018 and we don’t anticipate it taking a hiadus any time soon.
