Brewery to Sponsor Bike MS: Twin Cities Ride, Sport Padded Shorts.

Summit Brewing Company is pretty geared up today to announce our plans to sponsor and host the 2017 Bike MS: Twin Cities Ride. Organized by the National MS Society, this annual event brings together nearly 1,000 riders to bike anywhere from 12 to 50 miles through St. Paul and Minneapolis, all for one cause: a world free of multiple sclerosis.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 13, riders will start and finish their route at Summit Brewing, cycling past the Mississippi River, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, and plenty more beautiful scenery along the way. (Watch out for the hills, though. Hills are the worst.)

After the ride, cyclists will enjoy finish-line Summit beer at the brewery, where they’ll also find a variety of food trucks, live music, and plenty of open space to stretch out any pesky leg cramps. With bikes, fresh beer, and tunes all combining to support a good cause, it’s shaping up to be a nice little Saturday.

“The Bike MS: Twin Cities Ride is a must-do for any Twin Cities cyclist,” says Alison Wagner, Sr. Manager of Event Logistics with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. “The Bike MS team is ready to give you all we’ve got: choice urban routes, free t-shirts, stocked rest stops, route support, fun photo ops, and more. Plus, Summit’s bringing the beer. Sounds good, right?”

You bet your bike seat it sounds good. Participants pedaled over 25,000 miles during last year’s Bike MS: Twin Cities Ride and raised nearly $223,000 to help fund MS research and critical programs for people living with MS. Here at Summit Brewing, we’re proud and excited to support these efforts once again this year, and we’ve got the properly inflated bicycle tires to prove it.

Those looking to register for this year’s Bike MS: Twin Cities Ride — or the Bike MS 150 — are invited to the Summit Beer Hall for an exclusive sign-up and informational event at 4 p.m. April 28. Registrants with a valid ID will receive a free pint of beer, which we will pour into a pint glass — not your portable water bottle. Sorry.

About the National Multiple Sclerosis Society

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now. MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn’t. The Upper Midwest Chapter serves more than 17,000 people living with MS in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, along with several counties in western Wisconsin and Nebraska. There is no cure, but with the help of people like you, research is progressing at a remarkable rate, with more potential therapies in development than at any other time in history. Money raised through Bike MS supports research and helps people with MS live their best lives.
