MN Beer Day & Extra Pale Ale

As November rolled in with its cool weather, Minnesota breweries, beer enthusiasts, and fans of craft brewing came together to celebrate Minnesota Beer Day. This special day, celebrated on November 1st, honors the rich brewing heritage of our state. Among this sea of fantastic brews across the state, there is one beer that stands tall as a true symbol of Minnesota’s craft brewing spirit: Our iconic Extra Pale Ale.

Minnesota has an illustrious brewing history that dates back to the 19th century. In the past decades, craft brewing has exploded, with countless breweries popping up across the state, each pouring their passion into unique brews. Minnesota Beer Day is more than just about the beer; it’s about community, heritage, and the appreciation of local ingredients that contribute to the character of our brews.

At the forefront of this movement is Summit Brewing Company, founded in 1986 in St. Paul by Mark Stutrud. Since its inception, Summit has helped shape Minnesota’s craft beer culture and has become a beloved staple for beer drinkers not just in Minnesota but throughout the Midwest.

Our EPA showcases the essence of Minnesota through its use of locally sourced ingredients. This commitment aligns perfectly with the growing trend of a farm-to-table mentality, emphasizing the quality and taste that only local products can provide. Caramel and biscuit malts balanced with a juicy citrus hop bite have led this beer to be one of the most awarded beers to come out of the North Star State.

So, while Minnesota Beer Day has come and gone, be sure to raise a glass of Summit EPA as a toast to our incredible craft beer community and the generations of brewers who have come before us. Whether you’re hitting up your favorite local brewpub, attending beer tastings, or simply enjoying a cold Summit EPA at home, take a moment to appreciate what makes Minnesota’s craft beer unique.
