Summit Brewing Company continues partnership with Minnesota Music Coalition
Summit Brewing Company and the Minnesota Music Coalition (MMC) today announce the continuation of their partnership through 2012. Previously, as part of its 25th anniversary party, Summit gave 50 percent of its ticket proceeds to the organization, which is dedicated to sustaining the Minnesota music scene.
“The MMC is a great resource for musicians,” said Mark Stutrud, founder of Summit and MMC board member. “It strives to support musicians, build relationships and grow the music community. We’re eager to work together again on future events and fundraising efforts.”
The MMC offers education, communication, advocacy and professional development services through its statewide network for independent musicians. In addition, the MMC’s “Caravan du Nord” in fall 2011 promoted educational programs in communities throughout the state with performances from Twin Cities and local artists.
Summit Brewing Company
Summit Brewing Company was founded in St. Paul. in 1986, and has stayed close to its roots, serving the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region. It is currently available in 16 states including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Kansas and Missouri. Summit now produces 11 varieties of premium craft beer, including six year-round, four seasonal beers, and the limited release Unchained Series. Minnesota Music Coalition
The Minnesota Music Coalition (MMC) is a new non-profit service organization dedicated to supporting Minnesota’s independent music community. The mission of the MMC is to connect and support Minnesota’s creative community of independent musicians. The musicians, producers, promoters and presenters who make up the MMC board bring an unparalleled depth of experience to their passion to be the “bridge” between traditionally commercial artists and the nonprofit arts world. This traditional German style earned the nickname “liquid bread” because it was brewed by monks to help them get through Lenten fasting. Moravian 37 malts and Czech Saaz hops give it a toasted sweetness with a little spice in the finish.
