Closing in on the Backyard Bash

Well, we are just about a week out from our Backyard Bash. There are a lot of final details to wrap up, people to call, emails to send. We have a mighty little crew of folks planning this party, to which I am forever grateful. It takes a lot to put a party of this size together, so my hearty thanks goes out to Tom, Betsy, Emily, Steve, Kelly, Jade, and Mark.
So what can you expect from said party? If you haven’t checked out the event page yet, do so, there is a lot of helpful info there to make your party experience stellar. Some new developments that we just added:
Cask Beer Area
Our brewers are swell fellas, so come meet them! The guys will all be stationed at the cask beer area throughout the party to share their creations and talk beer. We are going to tap new firkins every two hours, a great chance to see how one single hop style can change the character of a beer. We are also doing a Kellerbier, which is essentially taking beer straight from the fermentors and serving it up. No filtration. Below is the schedule of beers, so study up and be prepared!

We are getting the free shuttles finalized and are adding updates as we get them. Why shuttle? Because close parking spaces are at a minimum. Why not visit one of these friendly establishments, have a pint to get things rolling, and come on down to our party?

Pronounced “My bock.” As in “Keep your hands off my bock.”
This traditional German style earned the nickname “liquid bread” because it was brewed by monks to help them get through Lenten fasting. Moravian 37 malts and Czech Saaz hops give it a toasted sweetness with a little spice in the finish.

Summit Oatmeal Stout

A taste you won’t find everywhere.
While its cascading rich black color will be familiar to Stout enthusiasts, ours is decidedly different. It's made with naked oats from the UK, for one. Smooth and slightly sweet, with hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate. Sold only on draught in select places.
