Summit Brewing is pleased to be partnering with Eureka Recycling, Minnesota’s only nonprofit with a mission to demonstrate waste is preventable. Together we are working towards zero waste at our upcoming Backyard Bash. We are aiming to reduce discarded material and to ensure that disposable items generated at the event will be compostable or recyclable. Volunteers will make it easy for event-goers to recycle and compost. We’re looking forward to seeing how close we can come to zero while having a great time!

Parking is very limited, so we’re encouraging everyone to bike, bus, shuttle, carpool, walk, or take a cab.  Please see our FAQ section below for more info on these options.

Special thanks go out to the Saint Paul Jaycees and our Summit tour guides for being event volunteers.  We couldn't do it without you!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Where should I park?
Parking is extremely limited.  This means you may have to park on the street and walk quite a ways.  Please be aware of any parking restrictions when you park on the street!  A few of our neighbors have graciously opened up their lots for the day.  Please only park in lots that are clearly marked with our signs.  Again, these lots will fill up very fast!

So if there is no parking, what should I do?
We are encouraging biking and there will be racks available (don’t forget your bike lock!).  We are also right off of W 7th, so Metro Transit makes stops not far from here!   We are in the process of arranging free shuttles from area bars.  Check back here soon for more info.  And of course, there are always cabs.

Is there a place to park my motorcycle, scooter, or Segway?
There will be a designated single occupancy motorized vehicle parking area near the brewery.  We'll have traffic control to direct you when you arrive.

Can I bring kids, pets, or firearms?
Sorry, 21+ unarmed humans only.  Licensed service animals are permitted.  And by no kids, that includes cute babies.  We like them too, but they need to sit this one out.

Can I bring in a cooler or outside drink/food?
Nope. We will be selling food, beer, water, and pop. What more could you need?
Speaking of water/pop-the Jaycees will be selling these items as a fundraiser for their group, so know that your hydration is going to a good cause!

Can I bring a blanket or chair?
No chairs but blankets are okay. Although we’re not exactly sure where you would put one down.

Is the event handicap accessible?
It is!  The party will take place behind the brewery, on a mix of grass and concrete.

What if it rains or –gulp— snows?
We have a ginormous tent, weather isn’t going to stop us from partying!

Will I get to tour the brewery?
Unfortunately, due to the size of the event, we will not be conducting tours of the brewery.  Just another excuse to come back and visit us!

Nope, all Summit fans are equal in our eyes!

Hold the bottle up to your ear. You can almost hear the polka.

Brewed in the classic Märzen style with Northern Brewer hops from Germany. Rich, toffee malt flavors up front with a clean hop finish as crisp as the autumn air. Unfortunately, like the fall colors, this seasonal beer is gone before you know it.

One taste and it’s easy to see why the Brits call this style Winter Warmer. Nutty, roasted malt flavor with hints of coffee, caramel, cocoa and a dash of hop spice. It’ll warm your cockles. Whatever those are.

Venture off the beaten beer aisle.

A taste you won’t find everywhere.

While its cascading rich black color will be familiar to Stout enthusiasts, ours is decidedly different. It's made with naked oats from the UK, for one. Smooth and slightly sweet, with hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate. Sold only on draught in select places.
